No. Only codes issued by the Italian Revenue Agency are real. A code that merely looks right can still be rejected by banks, phone carriers and landlords.

You can be denied a SIM card, a bank account, a rental contract, health registration and even salary payments. Many companies check the code before accepting you.

Not always. The letters and numbers may be correct, but if the Revenue Agency has not registered the code it does not exist officially. This tool checks both the format and the official register.
